Description

Conference & Banqueting Manager (Operations) required to join hotels in the South East of England area - in particular at Dartford, Kent area and also East Grinstead area. Transport will be required due to the shift work and location.
As a Conference & Banqueting Manager, you will have responsibility for conference and banqueting standards and service standards across a range of meetings, dining and wedding events. Supported by a team of casual Waiters/esses and by a full time Event or Assistant Manager.
Events occur throughout the week including the busy weekend period. Events cover a range of styles from conferences, corporate events, weddings, private dining, celebration dinners and party nights for the festive period. They range from intimate dinners for 2 to corporate or wedding events up to 150 with evening functions with bar service for 200.
The Role / Duties of a Conference & Banqueting Manager:
* Liaise with the sales team prior to the event to ensure you have a total understanding of the operation of the event and to raise and resolve any pre-event queries
* Ensuring all rooms are set according to the function sheet ready for the start of the event
* Ensuring casual employees are rotared to support during service periods throughout the event
* Welcome conference and banqueting guests on arrival to the hotel
* Meet conference/events organisers to run through the day events to ensure all needs are met and any operational challenges planned for to ensure guest satisfaction
* Supervise team to ensure all event requirements are met to the guests satisfaction
* Recruit, train and coach casual employees to ensure guest service standards
* Ensure all events are held in accordance with the guest service standards outlined in the Mystery Guest Standards
* Supervise and carry out food and beverage service for business and leisure events
* Service all conference rooms as required
* Liaise with night team to ensure overnight servicing and setup of rooms to ensure they are ready for the next morning
* Liaison with operational departments to ensure they are aware of guest requirements during the event
* Ensure all function sheet requirements are met for the event and that billing is accurate as per the billing instructions on the function sheet
* Liaise with the sales team for any post event requirements/feedback
Requirements for the roles of Conference & Banqueting Manager:
* Previous food and beverage management experience in a quality events environment at an operational level ideally a hotel
* Knowledge of order of service for weddings/toastmaster
* Live within a close proximity to the hotel to be able to complete flexible shifts dictated by the event you are managing
* Smart appearance and a calm friendly manner even when under pressure
* Ability to be well organised with excellent planning skills
* Clear and effective communicator both with employees and guests
The salary for the roles in the South East of England that we currently hold for Conference& Banqueting Manager roles is given as £30,000 to £31,500 / per annum, (which includes a £basic salary plus guaranteed service charge payment paid quarterly). An additional end of financial year service charge may also be paid.
Transport will be required due to the shift work and location.
