A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Head Chef within a beautiful, independently operated hotel in the Sussex countryside.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running and strategic planning of the hotel kitchen operation, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, service standards and consistency.
Incredibly strong leadership qualities are essential with the ability to appreciate, manage and work within a property which is currently undergoing a period of change and investment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to take full autonomy of the role and have a direct input into the direction and future of the business.

This is a challenging diverse role so someone with strength of character, self-motivation and drive to achieve goals is a must.

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef with the following key attributes and skills.

· A self-motivated forward-thinking individual.

· A strong Hotel Kitchen background with Conference and Events experience.

· Proven management experience within a luxury environment.

· The ability to demonstrate high standards in food presentation and quality and committed to providing exceptional and consistent levels of food service. Exceptional standards in Food Hygiene and cleanliness with the ability to manage this proactively within the kitchen on a daily basis

· The ability to display that they have a solid financial awareness and good stock control practices.

· A confident communicator with the ability to lead and develop the team.

· Someone to take a hands-on approach and a proactive role within the management team.

· Demonstrates ability to be able to control payroll, Food GP and operational expenses.

· Flexibility to work different shift patterns – hours as required/weekends.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Ability to use their own initiative and have good problem-solving skills

* A salary of between £35,000 - £40,000 depending on skill and experience
