GUILDFORD

£17,500-£18,500

THE POSITION:

We are working on behalf of an exceptionally reviewed, award-winning independent hotel in the heart of Guildford to source an exceptional Hotel Events Coordinator to join their vibrant, hard-working team. As part of the front-line of their events team, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing corporate clients and maximising opportunities to bring events to the hotel. You'll also work alongside the Operations Team to make sure events are delivered to the highest standard to increase the profile and success of the hotel.

On offer is a basic salary of £17,500-£18,500 and a generous 28 day holiday allowance. You'll be working in a close-knit working environment in which staff are valued and rewarded for hard work. This role also offers the opportunity to develop into senior coordination roles in the future and develop your skills in hotel events to a high level.

This is a fantastic position for a hardworking individual to take ownership of the corporate side of hotel bookings and truly make a different in driving the hotel's success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Daily managing of the telephones, emails and
* Liaising with corporate clients over the phone to generate sales opportunities
* Conducting tours of the hotels to showcase the best of the hotel and demonstrate the experience available to customers
* Completing daily/weekly procedures to ensure the department is functional
* Detailing and negotiating packages and menus set forth within the Meeting and Events
* Up-selling menus, daily rates and conference packages
* Working with the Operational team to ensure all event details are handed over so that services are delivered to the expected standard
* Completing Event Orders, Terms and Conditions and Payments for all events according to hotel
* Updating and cleansing the database to make sure all clients contacted and relevant and up to date

REQUIREMENTS:

* This role is ideally suited to an individual with at least 6 months experience in a similar though, although full training will be provided
* A hard-working attitude with the ability to self-motivate
* Strong sales skills
* Immaculate personal presentation and communication skills
* A positive customer service approach
* Confident telephone manner and excellent IT skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Diplomatic when handling complaints
