Hotel Receptionist Oxfordshire, OX1 4* Hotel, £23-£24K

4*, central Oxford hotel is currently looking for a receptionist to act as first point of call at this independent 4* hotel. This is an independent property located just 1 mile from town.

* To follow day to day procedures and ensure that these are adhered to by the team

* Create a team environment which promotes good morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride.

* Interact with guests and clients in a professional, warm, friendly and confident manner.

* Develop relationships with regular guests to maximise sales opportunities and generate future business.

* Communicate with colleagues and managers to ensure all guest expectations are met.

* Develop a close working relationship with all departments, colleagues and managers

* Promoting teamwork within the department and hotel. ? Ensure safety of all guests and staff within the hotel.

* Perform all guest accounting functions according to company policy, assuring correct posting of invoices and guest bills and ensuring all balancing is completed at the end of each shift

* Actively up-sell the hotel during all guest interactions where appropriate and provide as much information as possible in order to exceed profits of the hotel

* Be aware of and follow the hotel cash handling and credit procedures, and any discrepancies are dealt with immediately

* Ensure the billing and control of revenues are maintained at all times

* To take safe custody of any Hotel keys and ensure that keys are always signed out and in by others.

* Monitor all guest accounts and to make sure all charges posted are correct with supporting documentation.

* Consistently deliver exceptional standards of service which exceed customer expectations.

* Work to the standard operational procedures at all times and understand the importance of attention to detail.

* To know all facilities and service within the hotel and in the local area and share this with guests’ who need assistance.

* Receive and process, online, email, telephone and walk in reservations accurately to ensure guest satisfaction for both accommodation and dining

* Attend training as requested and implement techniques learned into your department.

* Deal with guest enquiries efficiently.

* To be fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the Hotel and to pass this information on to the guest in order to maximise Hotel sales

* Ensure all maintenance issues are recorded and dealt with swiftly on the handover

Ideally we are looking for someone with previous hotel experience, though we would also consider someone from commercial hospitality who fancies a slightly different role.

Hours are either 7am-3pm, or 2.30pm until 10pm. You will work 5 days from 7, including weekends o a rota basis
