My client is a luxury 4* hotel, surrounded by stunning landscaped gardens, offering the best in relaxation. They offer award-winning dining, afternoon tea’s, and are an extremely popular venue for Conferences and Weddings. Due to continued success and year-on-year growth, they are now seeking an enthusiastic and creative Junior Pastry Sous Chef to join their team! The team is seeking an individual who will put their heart into it and have a strong passion for all things food! When you tell a guest you’re happy to help, you will mean it!

Purpose of the role

As Junior Pastry Sous Chef, you will have knowledge of all aspects of patisserie. You will have responsibility for creating new ideas for the dessert menu and be involved in the training of the junior pastry chefs within the brigade.

Junior Pastry Sous Chef Duties and Responsibilities;

- Help ensure the smooth running of the Pastry Section, and develop the team to the required level.
- Proactively seek new ways and methods of producing pastry products.
- Possess good communication skills within the kitchen and with other departments.
- Be guest focused at all times and show willingness to be flexible to fit in with business/and event requirements.
- Implement with Head Pastry Chef training requirements for all kitchen personnel including health, hygiene and safety practices.
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef/ Head Chef in menu writing, planning and be proactive in assessing current industry trends and initiatives.

Junior Pastry Sous Chef Experience and Skills required:

- You will already be a Pastry Chef looking for a career opportunity

- Able to work unsupervised and develop junior team members
- Have experience of working in a quality hotel kitchen.
- Good attention to detail 
- A high level of understanding of health & safety and food safety guidelines within the kitchen.
- A strong understanding of the high standards that are required in a luxury hotel environment.
- A high level of motivation with exceptional attention to detail.
- Be confident, professional and have strong interpersonal skills.
