Hotel Assistant Manager – Luxury Retreat

Salary:                                  £37,000

Location:                             Essex

Main duties and results areas

Plan, lead, manage and coordinate all the operational and day-to-day activities for the site.
Work with the Directors to develop and implement marketing strategies, including successfully implementing innovative ideas to promote the hotel and drive up custom and occupancy levels.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including fire, other health and safety/ safeguarding, data protection requirements.
Undertake or participate in the recruitment, induction, and training of the workforce.
Provide effective leadership to all members of the workforce including line managing the heads of department and day-to-day workforce management.
Develop, maintain, and manage hotel operating procedures, policies and service standards and ensure compliance.
Manage and deliver budget targets effectively, including highlighting deviations together with strategies to manage these to the Directors.
Experience

Excellent understanding of the hospitality industry.
Ability to understand and compile financial information, complex reports and statistics and effectively translate to actions required to proactively address any negative trends.
Good understanding of regulatory frameworks for hotels and applicable health and safety. 
Proven track record of successfully managing staff and operations in the hospitality industry.
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to organise own work and priorities effectively.
Computer literate and fully familiar with hospitality industry IT systems, software packages in general, databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to solve problems and take appropriate decisions in the absence of the Directors and within permitted discretions.
Experience of working in a health and well-being facility and/or nutrition. (D)
Experience of working with IT systems and applications, including booking systems.
Experience of complaints handling and resolution.
Experience of procurement processes including best value.
