Description

Want to be part of a small friendly team working for a company that looks after you like a real person (rather than a number).

We're looking for someone to create a warm, friendly and relaxing bar environment for our guests to enjoy after a day of activities. You will work to create memorable relationships with our guests by remembering their names and other key details each week while also managing a well stocked and clean bar and assisting in other areas of the hotel as and when required. You will be numerate and have a sound knowledge of bar working practices.

This is a fast paced job, so we expect our team to work fast and efficiently when on duty.

Requirements

You must be well presented, reliable, thorough, hardworking and flexible, with high standards. You will be confident, cheerful and outgoing with plenty of common sense and a ‘get on with it’ attitude. This job is hard work and physically demanding.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Set out afternoon tea each day
- Open and activate the hot tub each day
- Stock the bar to ensure it is ready for service
- Be available at all times to pour drinks and provide advice to guests. Drinks may be served in the hot tub, library, lounge or at the dining room table. Look for guests to serve; don’t wait for them to ask you!
- Add drinks to guest accounts promptly and accurately and follow procedure with regards to staff drinks
- Prepare wines needed for dinner each evening
- Ensure stocks of ice and other drinks garnishes are readily available
- Assist in the service of children’s and adult’s dinner. This includes pouring wine and water as well as clearing and washing dishes at the end of each course
- Be knowledgeable about the food and wine served during dinner each evening
- Maintain a tidy cellar and prepare order sheets for new bar stocks each week
- Effect any emergency maintenance in the absence of the handyman 
- Ensure that the chalet is safe and that doors are locked at the end of your shift
- Maintain an enthusiastic and helpful approach to guest care at all times
- Interact and show genuine interest in our guests to create memorable holiday experiences
- Assist with chalet changeover days in an enthusiastic way 

You may be asked to perform other general tasks in any of our properties. This may include cleaning, snow clearing and general maintenance.
