Chalet Helper/Driver
We are looking to recruit Chalet Helpers/Drivers based in Morzine, our Chalet Helper/Drivers are a key part of the team, making sure our guests
can get from A to B and providing support in the chalets!
Your key responsibilities will be:
- General help in the chalets
- In resort transportation of guests
- Airport transfers
- Organising ski hire for guests & the point of contact for all ski related questions
General help in the chalet means helping the chalet hosts with things such as setting the table and serving both
breakfast and dinner. Serving guests canapés and aperitif pre dinner, clearing tables & washing up. Keeping the
honesty bar stocked, maintaining the hot tub, setting the fires, snow
clearing, being in charge of wine supplies, being in charge of keeping
the garage areas, where skis and boots are stored, clean and tidy and just
generally being an extra pair of hands.
Our in resort service involves shuttling the guests from the chalet to the slopes in the mornings from 8.30 to 10.00 & afternoon pick
ups from the slopes from 3.30pm onwards. As well as actually driving the
guests, you will need to organise the guests in a nice but efficient manner so that the service runs as smoothly as possible.
Our main transfer day is on a Sunday when you will be required to do 2 trips to the airport, in addition you will most likely have to do a trip on
Saturday or one mid week when we have short break stays. You will be
responsible for looking after your van, keeping it clean, full of
diesel, checking oil & that water is filled for wipers.
In terms of being the point of contact for all ski related questions, we would need you to quickly gain good knowledge of the local area, ski
lift opening times, best places to ski/board, good beginner areas, be
able to advise on restaurants on the mountain and also help guests at
the ski hire shops that we use & be helpful in putting them in
contact with ski schools if they require lessons. You would need to keep
guests informed on the weather on a daily basis and any events on
the mountain.
Standard daily tasks
Morning:
- Help hosts lay out & serve breakfast
- Check hot tub & add chemicals/ water if needed
- Defrost van, clear snow
- Restock honesty bar
- Clean fire, set new fire
- Run guests to the slopes or ski hire shop
- Update guests with weather/ski conditions
- Clean communal areas in chalet
Evening:
- Pick up guests from slopes/town
- Help hosts clear away afternoon tea
- Serve children’s meals if required
- Serve aperitif & canapes, three course dinner, cheese & coffee
- Organise & serve wine
- Help hosts wash and tidy up, clean kitchen
- Help hosts lay table for breakfast
Standard weekly tasks
- Refuel & clean van, check oil/ washer fluid
- Complete driver/van report
- Communicate transfer times to guests day before departure
- Take guests to ski hire shop, assist in the shop
- Hand out ski passes, collect back used passes
- Manage guest requests, questions
- Airport transfers (on average 4 a week)
- Pick up the shopping for the hosts
What kind of person are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates who have the relevant driving
experience/qualifications required but above all someone who is a real
people person and can manage groups of people in a polite, calm and
professional manner.

Hours/ Package
- Competitive monthly salary paid through the French system (in euros)

- A €150pp travel allowance for your return travel to Morzine
- There are 2 days off a week and 2.5 holiday/sick days per month that will be paid at the end of the season
- Reach4thealps will also organise and pay for team events in the season, typically night sledging, cross country skiing and or a meal in a
mountain restaurant, an important way to say thanks and to come
together as a team and just have fun!
- We also have high standard, well located accommodation that is available for rent though our sister company at a lower rate than the
market average.
Training
Our winter training course commences in early December and we pay for your
accommodation, food and pay for the costs of the training
provided by our management team On the completion of the course you will be given a Reach4thealps contract and pay
will begin after the training week. The employee will need to pay for their own insurance to cover their free time, skiing & personal belongings.

* EU passport holders
* British passport holders/other nationalities with French residency which is called a Titre De Sejour which allows them to work in France (who have already been working in France for a minimum of 6 months).
