Description

We are looking for social people with a hospitality background to join our overseas team as a Host in one of our Chalet-Hotels next winter.  The successful applicant will need to hold an EU passport (or have the right) to work in France, Austria and Spain or hold have the right to work in the UK to be seconded to Switzerland.

Our Hosts are the cogs that drive our operation in resort and it is their job to ensure our guests are not on just another ski holiday and to make sure they have a true ‘Ski Miquel Experience’.

This is a role for people who are willing to work hard and enjoy all that the mountains have to offer.  If you do, you will be rewarded with a job that gives you plenty of time on the mountain, as well as being able to interact with our guests, which makes it ideal for someone who is outgoing and loves to meet new people.

Please note that at this point in time the position is only open to EU passport holders or those with who already have the right to work in the European Union.

 

The Company

Principal Tasks

This is a diverse role, and your responsibilities may well change week to week, depending on the resort and the other staff members in the chalet-hotel.  is a busy operation in resort, particularly the evening meals, however a well-organised team will thrive in this environment working together as one.  The following is an outline of the principal tasks that are expected of our Hosts across the range of shifts:

Chalet Hosting

  • Preparing, serving and tidying away breakfast
  • Cleaning guest rooms (every other day)
  • Serving afternoon tea
  • Assisting with evening meal prep and plating up dishes
  • Serving canapés
  • Serving a 3 course evening meal and cleaning up afterwards
  • Changeover day is the hardest workday, deep-cleaning of all bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas making sure the chalet-hotel is warm and welcoming.

Bar Service

  • Serving guests with drinks in the early evening through to closing at 23:00 daily
  • Assisting with evening meal service when required
  • Monitor stock and ordering
  • Take payment from guests at the end of the week
  • Keep the bar and lounge areas clean, tidy, and welcoming

Ski Hosting

  • Dividing the group into two groups each day
  • Being responsible for groups of up to 12 people on the mountain
  • Guide guests for 4 hours each morning on a range of terrain
  • Stop at a suitable time and place for coffee
  • Book a lunch spot to finish the session at
  • Be able to address the diverse needs and abilities of our guests and tailor make each day accordingly
  • Be aware of mountain safety

 

Ski Miquel Package

Requirements

The following are requirements of the the position and some qualities that make up the ideal candidate:

Essential Requirements

  • Must have an EU passport or already have the right to work in France, Spain or Austria.  UK passport holders can only be seconded to Switzerland.
  • Have received vaccinations against Covid-19
  • High level of English to communicate with guests and staff
  • Previous hospitality experience essential
  • An experienced skier (required to Ski Host)
  • Foreign language (preferred but not essential)
