Chalet couple (Chef & Hostess) Chamonix
Our last couple were with us for six seasons and are now continuing their travels. As such we're looking to employ a passionate, friendly, hardworking, active couple to help manage our chalets in Chamonix starting this summer and hopefully winter 2023 (ski season as well).
You will mainly be working in Chalet Tissieres, our 9-bedroom chalet in Chamonix (sleeps 16 – 24 people).
THE CHEF: Your food and your warm personality are an integral part of our chalet holiday experience. You are a team player and will also be required to assist in general chalet duties if and when time allows. You will ideally have previous chalet, restaurant, yacht or professional catering experience. You will be preparing delicious home cooked mountain food for our summer guests and for the winter restaurant quality dishes for discerning clients
Summer 22: We serve hearty delicious home cooked style food. Suitable for active individuals upon return from a day climbing, mountain biking, hiking (mixture of buffet service and plated service). Simple hearty home cooked food.
OPTIONAL Winter 23: To continue working with us throughout winter you will need to have a higher standard of cuisine. Here you will have full input into menu creation and wine selection to compliment your great food. You will have had significant restaurant standard cooking background and the ability to create and deliver high quality 'fine dining' dishes in winter (6 day meal plan covering breakfast, afternoon tea/cakes & canapes, and a three course meal).
THE HOSTESS/MANAGER will be a warm, friendly, outgoing, well presented, organised individual with an eye for detail. You are responsible for creating a great holiday atmosphere and ensuring the chalet is well presented and meets our high cleaning standards, which involves daily cleaning duties and managing external cleaning staff if and when required during peak times.
Summer 22:
Your role involves the coordination of daily bed changes in line with our online booking system, managing dinner numbers, the management of linen stocks with our laundrette, the honesty bar, client check out payments, general cleanliness of the chalet. In busy periods an additional cleaner will be able to help you as well.
OPTIONAL WINTER 23 your role involves a higher degree of personal interaction with the clients and you will both be responsible for providing in-valley transfers to and from the slopes in our 8 seater minibuses. This means you will need to be confident and competent drivers.

Chef role:
You will ideally have previous chalet, restaurant, yacht or professional catering experience but good home cooking experience also considered.
Hostess/Manager role:
Ideally a hotel or restaurant background. Highly organise and professional / presentable. You will be the face of our business.
Both of you must have the ability to work in France (EU citizens, or French carte de sejour/visa) and have clean EU or UK+International permits for more than 3 years, be of a mature disposition & be physically healthy.
Ideally one of you speaks a good level of French and both fluent English.
Package comes with exclusive use of a private off-site 27 m2 duplex chalet with fireplace, with garden, private parking and garage storage. Located at 200 meters from the chalet. All food and bills are paid for, you will both receive an MBU season lift pass, free ski equipment hire (winter), a good weekly salary per season (experienced based).
You will be on a French seasonal contract.This is an excellent opportunity to strike that perfect work life balance in a fantastic environment.
