Interior Designer/ Project Manager

Hotel & Leisure industry experience is essential for this position.

Our client are multi-disciplinary design lead practice. They have an inspiring portfolio, including blue-chip national and international clients. They special in all areas of the hospitality sector, delivering projects throughout the UK and into Europe.

We are working with them to find an Interior Designer/Project Manager to join the team, working on projects within the hotel and leisure industry.

Main purpose of the role

The role would be a creative and logistical role to head up a contract and be client facing.

The role is split because within the existing team there are individuals who are a "bit of both", but some are perhaps a bit more designer whereas some are a bit more PM but equally have an appreciation of both roles and can tackle projects when called upon.

This would mean being able to present work, themselves and work within a team and represent the company.

Key responsibilities

Ultimately they would be the main client creative lead of a brand / concept development. This would entail working within a team and leading the process. This would require being able to present to clients and deliver projects on site. It could mean they see some projects from concept all the way to completion or overseeing the delivery as a part of the team with support of a PM.

They would need to follow protocol to ensure the key stages of development are met. They would have to be prepared to travel nationwide.

Essential experience required

* Have project running experience with a good understanding of logistics for project delivery

* Understand the RIBA work stages

* Have experience with managing client relationship and undertaking presentations

* An understanding of Health & Safety management in Construction

* They must have worked in Hotel & Leisure sector

Essential qualifications required

* Architectural or design qualifications to degree or similar level.

* Clean Driving License

* An understanding of Health & Safety management in Construction

* CSCS Card (would be ideal but not a deal breaker!)

* Ability of working in Auto CAD or similar but would have to be able to adapt to Auto CAD

* Excel and typical Microsoft ability to operate

Who they will report to

Main board directors & potentially project leader if part of a team for any specific project

Progression opportunities

The client operate a development programme with clear successes which will allow you to move up a level.

Reviews are annually and with a projection to an individual’s three year target. To achieve this relevant training or CPDs are provided, and all employees are appointed a mentor.

Salary

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Holidays/benefits

Statutory holidays starting at 20 days plus national bank holidays with an extension to 25 days after 5 years of service

Hours of work/place of work

Hours are 9am – 5.30 Mon- Fri

This role is a senior role and carries a level of responsibility which can be rewarded with a discretionary bonus.

Work place is the Ongar office (not home working) but the nature of the appointment will mean days out the office on site or in meetings.
